AWF

Brand Identity Redesign The Challenge AWF had spent 25 years building a reputation in international development, working alongside UNICEF, the World Bank, and governments across South Asia and Africa. The problem was that nobody could tell. Their identity looked like it belonged to a local NGO, not a firm operating across three continents. The brief was simple: make AWF look like the organisation it actually is.

The Insight

AWF's logo icon, the AWF mark was already there. A radial form derived from the Arabic letter Ain, referencing the name's Islamic origin. It just hadn't been used with any intentionality. The opportunity wasn't to start from scratch. It was to take what existed and give it a system.

The Approach

The rebrand centered on two decisions.

First: liberate the icon. Rather than confining it to a corner of a letterhead, we let it breathe, cropped into photography, used as a mask, scaled monumentally across report covers. It became a device, not just a logo.

Second: build a palette that could hold its own in Geneva or Islamabad.
Navy and sky blue as the primary language authoritative and clean. Yellow, green as an accent that cuts through without shouting.

Typography was kept deliberately simple. The identity doesn't need to perform. The work speaks loudly enough.

The Result

A complete identity system across digital, print, and presentations, built to travel. Report covers that look like they belong at a UN briefing. A LinkedIn presence that reads like an international consultancy. And a logo that finally reflects the scale of the organization behind it.
